  • The oldest and most common casting process used in the foundry industry is the Green Sand is a process of making molds with three essential ingredients – sand, clay, and water.
  • The choice of Greensand has a lot to do with the temperature at which the metal is poured. Many foundries do not have the expensive equipment to remove the burned-out clay. so instead, those that pour iron typically work with sand that is inexpensive compared to the other sands.
